Infinova cameras are integrated with the Digifort Software Suite, a local Brazilian VMS manufacturer, through which the system shares traffic images with a Local TV station.
Solution: Infinova V1492N-M integrated IP PTZ cameras system
The southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, the country's eleventh largest municipality has just gone live with a traffic monitoring system featuring 30 Infinova H- and M-Series high definition cameras that replace a series of cameras from various manufacturers. The system provides assistance to first responders, including police and rescue teams, in cases of accidents and stranded travelers. Surveillance went live September 13 2010.
The new, improved surveillance system was created in tandem with DigiFort, a Sao Paolo-based software house that creates Video Management Software (VMS) for monitoring and managing IP cameras as well as intelligent video analytics.
Based on Texas Instruments' Da Vinci technology, the M-Series were easily integrated with the Digifort VMS. Likewise, the H.264 high-definition capabilities were also easily handled by the Digifort software, making installation and implementation go smoothly.
Images are stored on a variety of servers, including those from IBM, HP and Dell.
Uniquely, a local TV station is in the same building as the control room for the traffic system. From central management, video signals are sent to the local station to provide traffic reports showing station viewers traffic flow and spots to avoid.
